Meet the Women of AMWA
Mackenzie Harms
I consider myself a Midwestern-Southern Lady, born in the Nebraska, but raised in Tennessee. I graduated from Spring Hill College in 2014 majoring in biology. Coming from a previously small institution I love the close relationship that we can have with our professors and have enjoyed AMWA helping to expand this to physicians and medical students in the community.
In addition to AMWA, I am also the President of SLU sight and involved in pediatric gastroenterology IBD research. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, being outdoors, and drinking tea and travel. Pictured behind me are two different bodies of water, on fresh and one salt.

Hanna Kim
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 2012 with
a major in Biology and minor in Art History. After 2 years back in California doing research, volunteer
work, and just spending time with my family and friends, I moved to St. Louis to attend SLUSOM. As an
MS2, I will be a lead for AMWA and the Hematology/Oncology IG. During my free time, I love to spend
time with my dog (he’s a 13 year old Chihuahua), watch some Netflix, travel, and explore places in St.
Louis. I cannot wait to meet the new MS1s and have fun at all the great AMWA events we have planned.

Shelby Lee
Hello everyone! I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. I then attended Saint Louis University for undergrad, where I majored in Biology and minored in Spanish. I am so fortunate to be able to continue my medical education here at SLU! Other than being involved in AMWA, I am a Class of 2018 Secretary, participate in OB/GYN research, and volunteer frequently. Outside of school, I absolutely love to read, run, sew, and spend time with my kitten, Leo.

Megan Mannion
I am from St. Louis. I graduated from Truman state in 2014 with a degree in Health Science. My hobbies include hiking, traveling, and going to art museums/ galleries (although I lack any sort of artistic talent).

Lexi Ragsdale
I was born and raised here in St. Louis, and I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2014. I majored in Biology with minors in Psychology, English, and Multicultural affairs. In addition to my involvement with AMWA, I will be leading the Pediatric interest group this year, and I am also involved with the Sun Protection Outreach Teaching by Students program (SPOTS) and clinical research. In my free time, I enjoy reading, swimming, and any outdoors activity. I’m excited to work with the other AMWA leaders this year to promote education, exposure, and camaraderie amongst women in medicine!

Shivani Singh
I am originally from Saint Louis, MO and I graduated in May 2014 from Saint Louis University with my Bachelor’s in Health Information Management. I became involved with AMWA as I wanted to play a role in advocating for the advancement of women in medicine, especially given my own interest in both health management and policy. In addition to AMWA, I am involved with student government, the Business in Medicine IG, and the SLU chapter of AMA. Outside of medical school, I enjoy volunteering at the Health Resource Center, frequenting coffee shops, listening to NPR, and spending time with friends and family.
